Szechuan Castle Restaurant - Edmonton

Our friends took us the Szechuan Castle to share a meal and some good times. We really liked the place. It has a good variety of food, I especially like the shrimp. There is a lot of deep fried stuff and this is pretty much a western variety of Szechuan but it is good, abundant and tasty. We don't live here but if we did I would be back.

We arrived for lunch on Friday, June 9. Having lived in Edmonton for most of our lives, we have seen our choices with regards to Chinese cuisine diminishing over the past several years. This lunch was outstanding - great selection, hot and great presentation. There were many options available. Service was excellent with water replenished frequently. The young lady at the till was extremely personable. We definitely will return.

Not usually a fan of buffets but this one works. It is so busy all the time that you see the food moving. Family owned and operated. Great attentive service. Very friendly. And it is good western style Chinese food.

Tasteless, cold, chewy, overcooked, dirty dishes.....how many more bad descriptors can I come up with for this horrible restaurant. Did I forget over-priced? Friendly staff, and that's about it. Do yourself a favor and take your hard earned money to another restaurant. The only thing amazing about this place is that it's still in business!

We decided to check this place out on a whim and I'm glad we did. Even though we arrived 10 mins prior to the dinner buffet, we were welcomed in by friendly staff who greeted us in a courteous manner and got us our drinks. We had one party who wasn't able to eat certain things due to a medical condition. The staff didn't hesitate to step in and offer alternatives at no additional cost. The food was fresh 4pm and amazing. I've been to 4 different Chinese restaurants in Alberta since I arrived here from Ontario in a little over 3 years and this is the place to go. Nice clean facility, great food and friendly staff. That's all you can ask for. The price was really good as well 19.99 for a dinner buffet. Options: chicken balls, rice, chow mien, sweet and sour spare ribs, mussels, veggie options, dessert bar and salad bar. They also have a big gluten free selection on their menu. Highly recommended.
