Shumka Ukrainian Foods - Edmonton

Only one word can describe the fantastic meal that I had - fantastic!! Great Ukrainian food - super rich and delicious cannot get enough ! Fresh and so many choices. Best meal in the food court at Kingsway!

For 1/2 sausage and I mean less then half and 2 cabbage rolls tiny with nothing but a little rice, and 1 porigee very dry(dill potato), the chicken is soggy, the meatballs very salty and you get 2 meatballs for 14.00 chicken is not included. The borsch I got was ice cold (not even a slight warm so cold even the container was ice cold I got a small container for 10.95 no vegetables nothing but beets in it, but when I warmed it up it was not to bad [very spicy though). I asked why so cold they said they do not make it everyday and its comes frozen.She said they do not sell enough to keep on hand warm. Now I am only first generation in Canada and my parents are direct from Russia and Ukrainian and their food is no wheres near to what both countries offer.Both my parents still live their I was born here and taken back to ukrainian and then at 2 moved here with my Тiтка.So i might not know a lot but know my Ukrainian and Russian foods. it would not be so bad if the prices was not so excessive.but food very dry and old looking.borscht broth was the best part.

If you love Ukrainian they you may decide to pay the exorbitant price. For the prices they charge you should be in a sit down restaurant, not a mall sitting on a stool!

Unless u are looking for a snack the meals are pretty expensive. When i went the food was cold and even made me sick. I dont recomend it at all

For a price of $34 Cdn you can stuff 3 people with every type of Ukranian food you would want. This food is made with love and it shows. The service was friendly and helpful. For the price I got:-4 med sized Kolbassa sausages,-6 meatballs with tons of gravy-10 Nalysynky (pron: Nal-yes-nah-keh... they are crepes with crumbly cheese and they rock)-12 perogies (they have more than three kinds)-side of bacon crumble for the perogies (delicious, must try)-side of sour cream for the perogies (because it is staple and goes with the perogies)-a bottle of fresca
