Contribuiți la feedbackWe made a reservation, but it turned out to be unnecessary. The staff was incredibly friendly. Doris, the cocktail, was excellent and reasonably priced compared to many other cocktails on the menu. The fish was superb, not overly greasy. The garlic Parmesan fries were served hot and fresh, though they did get soggy quite quickly. They were very garlicky! My boyfriend really enjoyed the pasta, which had a sauce that tasted like a mix of cream of mushroom and beef stock, with a hint of extra pepper—definitely not very spicy. The atmosphere was nice and a bit upscale. I would definitely come back!
I visited Mr. Mike's for my birthday dinner with my family. Since it was my first time there and my parents are fans of hearty meat and potato meals, we thought we'd give it a shot. The atmosphere is quite similar to that of Applebee's or BP, very laid-back and casual. The service was average, which is fine, but considering it wasn't very busy, I expected it to be a bit quicker. Our waitress was friendly and even offered a complimentary dessert for my birthday, but I was too full to enjoy it. While the casual menu items weren't particularly outstanding, they did feel a bit pricey for what they were. However, the meal met our needs, and everyone was satisfied with their dishes; the quality was consistently decent. Overall, I have no complaints.
I hadn't visited Mr. MIKES in Edmonton before, but I decided to check out the one on Bourbon Street. The interior has a casual steakhouse vibe—nothing too fancy. There were quite a few small children running around for some reason. The service was decent; it wasn’t super fast, but it wasn't overly slow either. Unfortunately, the beer that came with my sidecar Caesar was quite warm, which made it hard to enjoy. On a positive note, the spinach dip was quite tasty, and all the chicken entrees were cooked perfectly—juicy and not dry at all. Overall, it was a solid experience. It felt a bit more upscale than Boston Pizza, but not quite as upscale as The Keg. The quality and consistency of the food were pretty good.
I was craving a steak sandwich but decided on the beef dip. Very tender served on a soft baquet with au jus and fries. The horse radish aoil was magnificent. I asked the server if it was in house made. NOT. MY POSSE had the Saskatchewan breakfast bowl with sausage and home fries. His partner had the Mike burger. Too much filler in the patty but served on a soft baqutte as well. Old school Ceasars were very well mixed with a killer spiced bean. Soft music and quiet place to dine. Great ambience after a day of shopping at the west edmonton mall.
I give the star for our server, but everything else was sub par. We went for a Christmas party and we were quite disappointed. The best plate was the bruschetta by far. Lobster dunk was favoured by a couple people in the group. Even though we had a couple of stragglers our dinner service was very drawn out. We were sitting for 3 hours which was a lot of waiting time. Steaks were not cooked properly but to send it back would have been a painful wait. Vegetables were a bit too al dente for most diners and they were room temperature. Twice baked potatoes are supposed to be a treat, but these were not hot or delicious. One order was forgotten and am not sure if it got resolved because it was taken off the bill. If you order sticky toffee pudding, the 1/2 order is plenty. Not willing to give them another chance as this was our #2 try.
