The Bothy - Edinburgh

I have the vegan burger that was as basic as they come. Some vegan cheese, tomatoes, salad and onion. Skinny fries on the side. I think it's worth 14 pounds. Was the clostest vegan option to Murrayfield, which is why we left. Probably not back. The premises and the staff were nice.

We had vegan “fish” and chips, soup and edamame hummus, and a vegan breakfast and were really impressed by all. We felt like a lot of thoughts had gone to make them as good as the non-vegan options and they had a lot of taste.

We had the vegan fish and chip soup (banana blossom) as part of the room service (to keep at the hotel), which was delicious and filled and the service was good. They said they had vegan hot chocolate, but then they said they had run out. We had breakfast in our stay. There was very little buffet to have (only toast and jam, and they delivered us with vegan butter on request). A vegan option of veggie breakfast was listed, but it turned out to be just a vegetarian breakfast with products missing. It was very subduing, luke warm and would not be something I would have been willing to pay if it had not been included. The staff also did not seem to know about veganism and could not tell us what was in the vegan breakfast when ordering.
