I went in for lunch and I think it maybe is a better lunch place rather than a dinner restaurant but haven't been in at night so can't compare. The food was delicious and very thoughtfully prepared. I think there is a takeaway option as the waitress seemed to ask everyone that came through the door if they were sitting in as soon as they walked in the door, this got slightly annoying. There is a wide selection of Eastern Asia cuisine on offer and it all looked very appetising. Dessert selection was very disappointing though. Also it was a strange music selection as it was UK indie music from 90's and a lot from 60's, I wasn't arguing as I loved the tunes that were playing, it was perfectly my taste, just thought it a bit strange in a Far Eastern restaurant. All-in-all a very nice wee place for some quality Eastern cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommended.
Best takeaway Pad Thai I've had. Too often dishes like Pad Thai arrive home in a bit of a stodge. This was fresh, aromatic and visually appealing. First time we went they had gone a bit heavy handed with the fish sauce which was a bit disappointing. Second time we went I asked for less fish sauce and they were happy to oblige. Delicious. The rice paper rolls with guava were delightful. We've not eaten in, but the atmosphere inside when we collected food was relaxed and inviting.
I like Saikō. It's a cosy little place serving no-nonsense oriental food of perfectly good quality, quickly and reasonably priced. In my few, recent visits I never found it full or noisy. Waiters are nice and smily. Ideal for impromptu dinners when u don't feel like cooking, for a chat with a friend. Try the ramen duck soup, for instance: good approximation of the genuine article I had in my visits to Japan, good quantity, good taste. Recommended.
Good value for delicious food. could use more greens and thin cut meat for a more authentic experience. fish cake a bit chew, but good. very good service.
Really yummy food. Cute place, fun vibe, friendly staff. Prices were average, maybe a bit high. There were small plates that were nice for appetizers. Only complaint is that the ice cream cake takes a long time because they have to let it thaw, which they did not warn us about.
