Tugas Amor - Edinburgh, City of

I was often and eating is always excellent! love the grilled chorizo, francesinha, crushed dry salted cadry and her coffee! the atmosphere is amazing, very relaxed and the staff always happy. you never feel haste to end your meal. there is no better and more authentic Portuguese place in edinburgh than tugas amor!

While strolling through Tugas Amor, the amazing aroma of delicious food welcomed her in and enticed her to stay. She recently had dinner there with some fellow urban travelers and it lived up to all the hype! The expansive Portuguese menu was cooked with love and served in generous portions. They even elevated our chorizo to star status and followed it up with dishes so large (and tasty) that she struggled to finish everything. And don't forget to save room for the incredibly delicious chocolate mousse. A perfect spot for dining in Fountainbridge.

This restaurant is absolutely stunning! It is one of my go-to spots in Edinburgh. The food quality is consistently excellent, and the service is always welcoming. I highly recommend trying the flaming chorizo as a starter - the presentation is outstanding and the taste is even more so. The steak and chicken wings are also top-notch, with delicious flavors that reflect traditional Portuguese culture.

Make sure to arrive with a hearty appetite when visiting this restaurant! They serve incredibly generous portions that are out of this world. We began with a delicious cheese selection and the flaming chorizo, which was both beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. I opted for the bacalhau com natas (codfish cooked with cream) dish, which was also exceptionally delicious. After the meal, the owner surprised us with a Portuguese digestif drink to try, which was definitely strong but a fun and cultural experience. The staff was extremely friendly and made the whole dining experience enjoyable and unforgettable. I will definitely be returning!

Small venue. Booking in advance at peak times would be advisable. Food was great. Portion control issues, you get more than you anticipate so go easy when you order. Recommend the cheese and meat platters to start.....between four normal people or 2 ambitious people who wont have space for a main
