The Shoogly Peg - Edinburgh, City of

I visited this pub recently on the 23rd December with my wife and 3 other couples. 8 of us in total. Upon entry we noticed the pub was half full at best. We approached the bar to buy a round of drinks only to be told by the bar lady that we cannot be served. Of course we asked why..... Maximum permissable per group is 7 people.....this we found frankly unbelievable and astonishing! We voiced our disbelief and took our business elsewhere. This half full bar would turn away trade due to what was a ridiculous rule. We were 4 couples...... I hope in these times of financial difficulties the owner/s have the financial capability to sustain such a policy

I often walked by here and finally walked in. Small place (possibly 8 tables?? but a bit individual. The place was busy after I set myself. Toilet a little bit cramps for me like I'm on crutches, but besides that I'm back.

Great bar over the street from his sister pub the Rose Crown. Small place with a huge selection of drinks. Cocktails on Awaken! A great find and we will be worth a stop for a pint or three.

Wonderful, quirky and relaxing. I love the selection of drinkies they have and table games to make you want to stay a while. The loo is cool too.

Small proper old fashioned boozer on Rosé Street, it was quiet both times I visited, but friendly staff and excellent beer. Also has some outside seating.
