Adding to the unfortunate was the bad choice of the beer layner in today's world a craft beer or two would make a difference! eating was ok small menu, but some good dishes. also the small details separate ok from good, no dressing on the salat is low, but easy to correct. all in all a ok experience, but should have been much better.
This restaurant was recommended, but we were very disappointed to find it empty, but for another table. we stayed as we had booked, but had mediocre main courses then had to send the pudding back as it was not possible. the toilets were bad in the maintenance. this restaurant has changed the hands only before a week, but this is not an excuse, it needs a good facelift. the background music was good, but that was all, unfortunately, we will not be back.
We were a group of 5 men for a nice dinner after a beer on the afternoon. the personal cared very well for us and eating and the service were both first class. the only negatiw was that after a busy lunchtime they had run out of some food, drinks and coffee. it was the Rugby International Day, but really should they have expected this and the restaurant was not so busy in the evening. that is something they need to sort out in the future. Otherwise a good night and I would go back. our waitresses were also very light on the eye.
The lunch menu was only partly like the published version on toptable and was quite a lot pub grub, not restaurant. some of the things we had expected on the menu were not on the restaurant. when ordering fish and chis we were told that the fish was all gone. when we turned on the hook, we were told that was also off. oh, what red wine they have merlot or cabernet was the answer, but there is no more merlot! then there was a delivery (2.30 to this time) and we got fish and chips. It was okay.
I booked dinner at the Priory Bar Kitchen for 4 people at 8.30 on Saturday night big mistake!!! We had not even sat down when the waitress informed us that there where only certain foods available for the main course on the menu One to be exact and they could do us mussels as an alternative Disgracefull in my opinion!!! I own a small hotel and restaurant and cannot comprehend how this came about My party and I then left and had to find an alternative I would suggest that the kitchen and the management speak to one another and maybe in the future other diners would not be put in the position I was I am unable to rate anything for the Priory Bar Kitchen
