The Hideout Cafe - Edinburgh, City of

Beautiful to see this building restored and full of life. it is located on a great place and what is slowly becoming a foodie hub in leith, constitutional road. the caffe is light, bright and very family oriented. there were some small children and babies when I visited the afternoon. many tables and comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi and seemingly great coffee. for my lunch I ordered a halloumi, rocket, tomato and red onion chutney on a roggenbrot roll with halat and my friend order the braut and ham on a roasted pack. my sandwich was beautiful with grilled halloumi and the onion chutney gave the sandwich a nice bang! the charalate was disappointing as it was only mixed salat leaves with some cut radishes - some more salat ingredients would be appreciated. tee was good (teapigs) and they have a great choice of cake. Mouth-watering in the did and I was so trying to get a take-away slice or two, but I resistance. my only small criticism is regarding the service. it took 45 minutes to get two sandwiches, a cup tee and a filled water. the place was busy and it looked like only two employees where work, so understandable. it is a nice place to lunch or take away and would be perfect for taking something tasty and passing to leith left on a sunny day.

Hard not too love the Hideout. Food is always as unique as it is delicious, serving classic dishes with simple, but effective twists. Service is always friendly, the delivery speedy and the price reasonable. If you're looking for a breakfast spot in Leith, this place is a must.

Gorgeous from the outside, interesting and charming on the inside. Great space, lovely staff, delish food. Don't let the extensive raod construction put you off.

Bap with cheese, hash browns and egg tasty. Lost a star because I found a hair in my coffee, which happens and they did offer to replace or refund when I complained. Star lost because the waitress arrived with my food as I discovered the hair and was pulling it out of my mouth and she decided to pretend it wasn't happening.

Amazing breakfast!!! Vegie haggis and avocado toast! hot chocolate and delicious rose and pistachio cake.
