Basically a fast food joint. But serves its purpose for a fast quick rice ball or sandwich and a drink.
As the name implies, Scotts is located right in Princes Street Gardens. I can’t speak to the food here, but we had a stellar experience. My daughter got an ice cream cone and my wife and I each grabbed a pint of some nice Swedish beer £5 each). Here’s the thing about this place: Around back are comfortable folding beach chairs on the grassy hillside. You get a free hour rental of the chairs with any cafe purchase. So you can sit back amid the tranquility of the park and drink a beer while gazing up at one of the best possible views of Edinburgh Castle which exist. This is the way to go after a log day seeings the sights of the city. It is hard to beat in terms of relaxing spots to drink a beer.
I had a lovely cheese and ham Arancini ball and they heated it up for me . Kids had slush pups £2 each for small but they actually were quite big looking to me, cone of small chips £2.50. We had a sugar donut and cookie which were average really . The gluten free Belgian choc brownie was lovely . Coffee nice . Of course expect to pay more for the location but it’s handy to have it there . Would do well to have a kids meal deal here like a slush and chips or home baking etc for a set price . Park within eyesight of the seating here and plenty of additional benches around and of course the grass when it’s dry . Public toilets a 2 min walk away . Train bridge 30 sec walk away to wave and watch the trains go under .
Dirty tables rude staff no organisation served people from the back of the queue and ignored a lady in a wheelchair we had to tell the staff the lady was waiting to be served A long wait for our order and expensive and what a poor example to our visiting tourists
