Reekie's Smokehouse

I was invited by craig and felicity in the smokehouse of reekie to see what it was about. I had no hesitating statement, yes, since this place had already been one on my 'must try' list. on the holyrood road, a stone's throw from the royal mile, this place is easy to reach from the center and has been open for about 18 months. craig and felicity were welcoming, but one could see that this was not just for my use. it was clear that they had an enthusiasm, both with regular and tourist alike.

So this place feels a little dingy, but eating is still good. the pulled pork was good, but a ted dry. the highlight of the meal was definitiw the chips (fries); they were some of the best I had everywhere.

I loved this place. I had a drawn boar pan and my man had the drawn brisket roll. we had two sides of rosemary salt friars and veg-haggis. all were delicious. a special mention for the sauces. the cunning brother was amazing on the pork and the whisky-jerrk went so well with the haggis. I'll be back soon!

My good friend, the internet once told me that the human body is 83% water, much too much when they ask me. if they have the feeling to adjust their meat properly: water ratio then I would recommend visiting reekies smokehouse. if they consider themselves as fan of the quest of an animal flesh from his bones with their mere teeth, then I can reekie cordially recommend to anyone who was crisp and there were no single green in itself. Are you someone with a carnivorous disposition? if the answer is yes, they should really visit reekie’s.

I came here couple of weeks ago for lunch with 3 other friends. We had a Meatfeast and I must say it was a hell of a feast! I loved every bit of it! We had pulled pork, bbq beef brisket, ribs and burnt ends. They were all cooked to perfection! We ordered pickles, veggie haggis, beans and fries for sides and they were all great. The only thing I missed was a little bit more vegetables but that's just my opinion. As it's a Smokehouse I don't expect salad on the menu. However, pickles were not enough for me.
