Contribuiți la feedbackI would recommend avoiding this restaurant. It was empty while everywhere else was full for a reason. The drinks were subpar, with ginger beer served from a 2-liter bottle behind the bar and being flat. The steaks were drowned in a watery sauce and not cooked to the requested level, making them rubbery and not worth the high price. Three out of four main dishes were sent back for being undercooked. The sides of boiled potatoes and frozen broccoli did not justify the high price tag. The meal lacked mushrooms and tomatoes. Desserts were mediocre at best. The atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming. Overall, we were left disappointed and went to a nearby bar for better food. We regretted canceling our reservation at another restaurant for this mediocre experience. We would not return to this restaurant.
I was hesitant about trying this restaurant due to the mixed reviews, but I had a great experience using our Groupon voucher. The crab cakes and Brie starters, as well as the fish and chips for me and the chicken stuffed with haggis for my husband, were all delicious. The prosecco was delightful and the suggestion to bring one glass at the beginning of the meal and the other later on was a nice touch. This ensured that both drinks were fresh and served at the correct temperature. The service provided by the two lovely staff members was excellent, making for a pleasant Sunday afternoon meal. Thank you.
The food at this restaurant was not great. We started with haggis, which was okay, and then had the seafood pasta. Unfortunately, my partner couldn't eat it because the sauce was too sweet. The staff comped us a glass of wine for the poor quality of the food. Although it is a great traditional restaurant, we won't be returning until they update their menu.
Really bad experience unfortunately. Deep fried mushrooms very overdone, could barely get fork into some. Then it got worse…Haggis stuffed chicken was cold in the middle with watery sauce. Cheap gluey haggis with unseasoned mash, barely any neeps. All Presented like school dinners. And inedible.
Lovely wee cosy intimate restaurant. Food was excellent. My hubby had crab cakes as a starter and said they were the best he has tasted. His seafood linguine was also excellent and my starter was avocado and prawns Avocado was a bit over ripe and only 4 prawns but tasted lovely. Main was haggis stuffed chicken which was excellent and huge portions.
