Frontier - Edinburgh, City of

Frontier lured me to their restaurant through the amazing photos of their food on Twitter. Situated just by Bruntsfield links, Frontier is a small, quirky restaurant serving American food. The menu was great, filled with things such as burgers, hot dogs, ribs, catfish and on weekends American pancakes. I already knew from the photos I was going to have a sundae for dessert so went for the vaguely lighter option of a hot dog over my usual choice of burger. I went for a Native New Yorker, which is quite a classic. My dining companion went for chargrilled baby back ribs.

I've been wanting to visit Frontier for some time now, finally managed that today, and certainly was not disappointed. I ordered a Hot Dog, not something I normally do as I'm never sure what to expect. Well, I loved it, tasty Sausage, not the cheap rubbish served in other places. I opted for one with chilli etc, came with fries and slaw too. Certainly spicy enough for me. My son ordered Bacon Cheese burger, he couldn't finish it, and it was superb. The other member of our party ordered buttermilk fried chicken, that certainly was a plateful, next time, this will be what I choose I want to try the apple pie but was to full, maybe next time Staff were extremely friendly, very warm welcome and made to feel at ease straight away. Overall, top marks for Frontier. Strongly recommend anyone wanting to try something new, try Frontier.

I had been wanting to visit The Border for some time and finally made it there today. I was not disappointed at all. I decided to try something different and ordered a hot dog, something I don't usually do because I never know what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious sausage, which was much higher quality than what I have had at other places. I went with one topped with chili, which came with fries on the side. It had just the right amount of spice for me. My son ordered a bacon cheeseburger and couldn't even finish it because it was so good. Another member of our group got the buttermilk fried chicken, which was a generous portion. I definitely want to try the apple cake next time, but I was too full this time. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go back again.

This restaurant consistently provides an outstanding dining experience. The staff is very friendly and personable. The food is delicious, especially their pancakes, which are the best I have had in Edinburgh. I highly recommend checking them out.
