Caffe Piccolo - Edinburgh, City of

This cafe is a great find. Super friendly owner and staff and the fresh breads and food were excellent. Highly recommend this for coffee or a meal.

An amazing little gem of a cafe with great staff, lovely food and excellent coffee. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area, on the weekends there is a beautiful market outside it too which is lovely to wander through. Thank you both!

Myself and my partner went in and ordered two coffees to go. The place was empty bare another couple, The very rude lady behind the counter told me she’s dealing with other drinks then she’ll do ours. Smiley and happy I told her this is fine as I’m in no rush and told her to take her time. while waiting I could tell this lady was constantly looking over at me as I took 3 small sachets of white sugar for my coffee. Once the coffees were done she stayed hoovering around me asking “what else did I want?”. When I asked for some more white sugar for my partners coffee, she said lady I think that’s enough you already have 3 sachets. At first myself and my partner thought she was joking, as 3 sachets is not even a full teaspoon worth. Oh but it was no joke as she proceeded to bark at me telling me this was too much sugar I used and she has to buy in the sugar. Even though I had already purchased my coffee? Worst service while on holidays in Edinburgh. STAY AWAY unless you want to be shouted at for using more than one small sachet of sugar!

Very cute cafe with excellent, attentive service. They have a decent selection of gluten free and vegan dishes including desserts. The food was delicious. Very good value for money. Definitely worth a stop if you're on Grassmarket.

Excellent service, excellent food, best red velvet cake I've ever tasted. We visited on our honeymoon last year, and decided to come back to Edinburgh for a mini break and said that we must go back to this cafe and visit again
