Contribuiți la feedbackGreat location on the Grass Market. Ideal to stop and have something to eat or drink as you explore this beautiful city. The staff were friendly and the service good. You could sit outside and enjoy the bustle of the Grass Market area.
I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict, which included my first taste of haggis - I actually liked it, so I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. My girlfriend ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs, which were undercooked, and the smashed avocado was more like guacamole. The complimentary tea was a nice touch. Overall, I would give this restaurant three to four stars.
The atmosphere at this restaurant is excellent, and the live music is top-notch! However, the cocktails are mediocre and the staff is not very welcoming. Despite these drawbacks, the music definitely steals the show.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff. A little dinghy but it's a pub, after all. Food was good, drinks excellent. Live music while we were there. Outside seating available. Excellent location.
The menu made it look quite appetising. That was the most creative thing inside the place. The rest was dreadful. Full Irish breakfast? Not quite: the pork and herb sausages were devoid of any traces of herb, and even the pork 's presence was debatable, the white pudding was a wet mess of mush and hopelessness, the bacon and tomatoes both invisible (i.e. not served at all) and the flat mushroom was transmogrified into small button chunks. No wonder they whipped the menus away from us to reduce the threat of comparing what was on the plate with what was on the menu. The 'soda farl ' was even more imaginative. The sausages were (again) devoid of anything on the menu other than 'likely pork product ' and rusk, and the farl was doing an impression of what we usually refer to as 'a brioche '. The egg was certainly scrambled. Or at least that 's how they claimed to have destroyed it. See the photograph for a hideous view. Twenty quid for this misery. Coffees were fine, but that came quickly and half an hour ensued before anything else arrived. No one came to ask if everything was OK, no one offered anything else and we left feeling as though we had inconvenienced them. Yes, they looked rushed as they have to serve the hordes from the adjoining hotel, but the service and food were an abomination. I can only conclude that the chef was off sick and that his or her duties were being discharged by a chimp on its first day of paid employment. I 've had better food prepared by children. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
