Everyone who follows me will notice that I have written during the day reviews in banh mi. that's the reason we bought from places. we simulated to be judge on master boss, but don't try it when we came to a conclusion of a draw. that's here. we love the bbq blacks, but would be def again to try more options of the proteins!
Tucked away in small centre in Eastwood this is an institution . Great bread and bahn mi with friendly service
I tried to buy some bread as my loaf was nearly gone and I saw some birds were flying around and started eating them and there were no staff to stop them... Bread and cookies looked and smelled so nice but I don’t want to buy left overs of birds’ food.
Lim's Hot Bread appears on every single top 10 list of Banh Mi in Sydney, so of course, I had to see for myself. Oh my God, why did I not come here sooner? This is clearly a family business.... the walls are lined with letters to customers family photos, that just gives you a good vibe about the place. The couple running the shop are also the owners, and they served us with sincere friendly smiles, and ran the place like it was second nature to them. We got there for breakfast, and pretty early too, so we didn't have the full range of Banh Mi available, but we went for the Coconut Chicken rolls, with a bakery mini pizza for the 3yr old. There are a few assorted tables in the immediate vicinity, so it was nice to sit down with our breakfast, and watch Eastwood slowly come awake on a spring Sunday morning. I have to tell you, the Banh Mi was SUPER delicious. The bread was perfect crisp on the outside, and super soft inside. The pate was the best I've ever tasted, apparently a family recipe. And the coconut chicken was delicious, perfectly complemented by the pickled vegetables and coriander. I'm determined to work my way through the menu now.... it's a bit out of our way to get there, but it's totally worth it. The prices are pretty much standard Banh Mi, maybe slightly cheaper, and that makes it one of the best value meals you can get in Sydney, full stop. We weren't hungry again until mid afternoon. If you haven't tried their rolls yet, then seriously, you need to fix that.
