After living and working in Central and South America for 10 years, my Colombian/American family moved to the US and is always on the lookout for authentic regional cuisine. El Comalito offers a great variety of extremely authentic Salvadoran dishes, which can be hard to find, as well as a mixture of Mexican and more familiar "gringo style" options like quesadillas and fajitas. The meats are perfectly seasoned (the chicken tinga is particularly delicious), the pupusas are fresh, and the patacones are excellent. This place truly stands out in the area for its flavorful offerings, good music, and friendly staff. We give it 5+ stars!
This was my first time visiting for lunch, and I found the food to be outstanding. The Tuesday tamales were particularly delicious and some of the best I've had in the country. I highly recommend trying them if you enjoy Mexican or Central American cuisine.
Love Comalito! Maybe a little too much cheese on the enchiladas though.
On-The-Border trays of pre-prepared, assembly line cuisine this is NOT...the El in Easthampton is a cozy nook replete with a great bar and modest seating that features undeniably REAL and freshest of the fresh ingredients with an adventurous and robust menu. No pre-cooked nonsense here, folks. Proud and welcoming staff top off an amazing experience.
