The Cheesecake Shop

Very rude!! I went in to buy some candles for my partner's birthday dessert (which I purchased elsewhere in the end), with the intention of looking at what cakes they had and comparing with a couple of other options. When the man serving me realised I was just going to buy candles, the smile dropped off his face and as I asked if I could pay by card (I pride myself on being a very friendly person and I work in retail so I know to be kind to retail/hospitality workers), he looked at me, deadpan, simply said no and waited. I asked what the minimum was, to which he replied "5 dollars" and again, waited. I asked if there were any candles over $5, and he only pointed to the other end of the store "the top row". When I asked for more clarification, he pointed at each one and in a frustrated and frankly rude tone (as if I was just a nuisance), rattled off the general prices. None of the more expensive ones were what I needed, so I said "thank you anyway", he just grunted and walked away. I work in retail and have for many years so I know how you SHOULD deal with customers politely to ensure repeat service. I'll never go back again and I buy quite a few cakes generally. I felt unwelcome and awkward. Clearly they give great service if you spend enough money, but if they deem you unworthy, not so much. Do yourself a favour and go to another Cheesecake shop...

There have been a few occasions where we have purchased cakes and cheesecakes from here but have been extremely disappointed that they were not fresh. We were told 'come back in an hour, it will take about that to defrost' umm no thanks!

I have tried many of the cakes from the cheesecake shop, including their tortes, cheesecakes and mudcakes. Their mudcakes are rich and moist and my favourite is the caramel one. The sponge cakes used in the tortes are always very soft and airy. Tiramisu is my absolute favourite cake and I do like the Cheesecake shop's tiramisu, though it does have a large amount of cream in comparison to the sponge cake.

Haven't been to the store for quite sometimes, found out it has more variety now and a lot more option for custom cakes - which is good.. Great service, as always enjoyingodsblessing.wordpress.com
