I had really boring duck jam tacos... without season. My date had the fish stable. Spectacular for fishrog, but it was fried snapper. He liked the fish, but not the Asian claw. Again it was missing spices. We can come back for a beer, but not for food.
I had only 2 complaints: 1. I ordered my burger medium and it came medium rarely. It had a very beautiful viewer on the outside, but the lower bungalow was **** and the interior of the burger was very pink. It tastes good, but I like my meat cooked more. 2. The duck wings were a little too salty. The waitress, Mandy, was friendly and very helpful and nice. Overall it was good and we would go again.
Small portions for the price. 2 Scallops, no salad, no soup for $20. Not enough to fill you up.
We love this charming and fun restaurant, which serves as a convenient meeting spot for us to connect with our daughter and son-in-law halfway between Grafton and Rockford. It's important to us to choose a good restaurant, and we were treated like royalty here. Even though it was a quiet Sunday evening, we had a fantastic experience. To top it off, we relaxed by the fireplace on comfy leather couches after dinner and played cards around their game table. An excellent all-around experience.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere. We chose to sit in the bar area and didn't mind the noise level. The service was good, but we were let down by the food. I ordered the duck confit tacos, which were quite bland and lacking in seasoning. My date had the fish fry, which was on the pricier side but turned out to be fried snapper. He enjoyed the fish but wasn't a fan of the Asian slaw, which also needed more flavor. We might return for drinks, but we won't be coming back for the food.
