I used to patronize Bao Bao Veg very often when I was a flexitarian one decade ago. This is a typical Chinese vegetarian hawker stall that serves the traditional 'Zhey Mee Hoon ' early in the morning until late lunch (or when they are completely sold out). They are very efficient and the ordering process is very fast, due to the standard modus operandi of asking customers in advance along the queue. You would be sure to see long queues during 初一 十五 or the weekends. Be sure to check it out as this is probably one of the best vegetarian stalls in Bedok South that serves delicious vegetarian mee hoon. One of the con would be the typical serving of mock meats in traditional Chinese vegetarian stalls, but the mee hoon is really good! One of my favorite breakfast location if I am around Bedok South area. Updated from previous review on 2018-02-08
Is this how a business representative should treat customers? I frequent this place almost every Saturday and Sunday, and if she is not in a good mood, perhaps she shouldn’t come to work. Poor service doesn't mean you can mistreat customers just because you had a bad day. It's disappointing to see such behavior from someone in the food industry.
I used to visit Bao Bao Veg quite often when I was a Flexitarian about a decade ago. This place is a classic Chinese vegetarian spot that serves traditional "Zhey Mee Hoon" from early morning until late lunch or until they sell out. They operate very efficiently, and the ordering process is quick, thanks to the organized method they use for customers in line. During peak times, especially in December or on weekends, you can expect to see long lines. It's definitely worth checking out, as it's one of the best vegetarian stands in Bedok South, serving delicious Mee Hoon. The portions may include the typical mock meat you find in traditional Chinese vegetarian places, but the Mee Hoon itself is exceptional! It's one of my favorite breakfast spots whenever I'm in the Bedok South area. This review was updated from one I wrote back on February 8, 2018.
On October 17, 2020, I was in line to buy vegetarian noodles, which I do every Saturday. I typically order three packets of bee hoon and one packet of black noodles. However, the woman at the counter, who has shoulder-length hair and is shorter and heavier, responded to me very rudely in Chinese by saying, "Miss, look first before you order." Initially, I didn't understand what she meant, so I looked at the counter and saw that there were no black noodles available. It would have been so simple for her to just say that there were no black noodles, but instead, her response was quite disrespectful. Is this how a stall owner should treat a customer? I have been a regular customer nearly every Saturday and Sunday. If she’s not in a good mood, maybe she should consider not coming to work. Poor service is unacceptable, and just because your business may be successful now doesn’t give you the right to treat customers poorly. One day, for whatever reason, you might find yourself without any business!
