The David Macbeth Moir - East Lothian

This used to be the place to meet when I lived in Wallyford a few years ago. Myself and some old friends have all moved about since , so we all thought it would be good to go there for old time's sake and catch up. It was awful. Smell of dirty grease and bad language from the open kitchen. Disinterested bar staff. Loud lecherous old drunks who could do with a good scrub pestering us with their dirty talk. Girls snorting drugs in the upstairs toilet Younger drunks having heating arguments on the stairs After less than 30 minutes we decided we'd had enough and went along the Courtyard The Ship Inn, which was lovely. I don't know if this place is under different management now or what but I can safely say that we will never be back.

It's a weatherspoons, The foods and pricing is consistent wherever you go! I had Fish and Chips and it was lovely, Only complaint was the Disability toilet was disgusting as it was being used to be everyone as the door wasn't closed and locked.

It was a quiet Thursday evening when we popped in for a drink. There were tables free however they were all either dirty or full of empty plates and glasses. There were staff available and we were served in good time. We cleared a table and sat down opposite the bar. I was dismayed to see no attempts to clear the tables despite there being at least 3 sometimes 4 staff members in the bar area . One member of staff was continually looking at her phone . There was no urgency to get the place looking presentable. The only person working around the bar area who seemed to have pace was a young male. Only when the lady on the phone left did the other staff seem to up their game . It was a really disappointing visit with the exception of the good value for money.

Still one of the best spoons pub's. Very clean and staff great especially Russell

Disabled access broken lift, when advised the staff of this they didn't seem bothered, would never go back
