Mushroom soup, incredible. Cheese scone, incredible. Millionaire Shortbread.... out of this world. Nice coffee too!
This is literally the most perfect café spot and Air B and B we were so well looked after by Morag, Karen and the team they are excellent and the food was delicious. You have to pass by and enjoy the homemade food, the service and the view. Nothing was too much and we can't rate this highly enough. There is a shop inside the café selling everything literally that you need. The breakfast baps were a total winner we had one each morning along with amazing coffee and cakes. The team deserve 5 we didn't want to leave. Really special, happy place to be. We will be back. We stayed upstairs and the team were so kind by delivering us food a and late night snacks and having the breakfast orders and coffee ready and waiting nothing was too much. Loved every second, thank you
Stopped in for lunch seemed to be popular judging by the amount of customers, ordered 2 sandwiches at 1 oclock finally appeared 50 minutes later, my tuna mayo and red onion toastie had barely been toasted it was anaemic in colour and was devoid of mayonnaise and so dry it was inedible the crisps were soft and clearly had been sitting out for some time, my partners sandwich arrived on the wrong bread and was without side salad or crisps, basically a cheese sandwich on white bread on a bare plate, the decor and furniture are nice, but sadly let down by the disorganised running of the cafe and the very poor food
During a recent visit we didn 't notice a sign on the door indicating the cafe was closed. On entering and intending to take a seat were met with the words; ' 'can I help you ' ' in a very unfriendly and aggressive tone by this wee fat wifie behind the counter. I explained that we had come for breakfast and were told in no uncertain manner that the cafe was closed. She was quite clearly upset about the fact that we hadn 't seen the sign and proceeded to produce one and bang it on the counter in front of us, stating in future we should be more observant. She was quite clearly very upset and went on to inform us that we could sit outside instead, but it was cold and windy. I proceeded to write to the manager and complain but over three weeks later have heard nothing. Quite clearly they don 't care a jot about their customers for if they did would have acted on it. This place is best avoided.
