The Red Lion - East Lindsey

Warning: Discrimination against individuals with disabilities! The restaurant denied entry to my mother because she uses a mobility scooter. The doorman was rude, cruel, discriminatory, and even laughed as he turned her away. I will be lodging a complaint against this establishment and the doorman(s) with the government and the Disability Discrimination Department. [hidden link].

The Red Lion is one of two (Count 'em: 2! Cask Marque pubs in all of Skegness, which should give you a hint that it is not a real ale town. There is a not a single really good pub in this place, and on paper The Red Lion, which you 'll find diagonally across from the train station, should be your best option. And it normally is: It 's a Spoon, and the Spoons are normally considered a solid option for real ale lovers. Not in this case. The pint I had had gone bad, oxidized. That really shouldn 't happen: Obviously, the cask had been kept for too long (normally, a cask has to be finished within 3 days, or else you 'll run a risk that the beer goes bad . Bummer!

A good pub with a varied choice of cask ales, service was quick and the beers were well looked after.One of the better Wetherspoons.

The food in this pub is excellent value for money, the chicken tikka masala is one of the best I've ever tasted. I also found the drinks to be good value.

This pub is a cheap Wetherspoons pub, but not the cleanest of placest. It's a real locals pub, which is a shame because a seaside town like Skegness needs a decent Wetherspoons maybe it would be different if it were on the seafront instead of up by the train station? I have eaten there once and to be honest, the food was ok, but knowing what I do now about their hygeine I wouldn't eat there again!
