An unassuming pub from the outside, don't be fooled. The welcome was warm, the food good and drinks aplenty!! Just no dessertsas sold out on Friday , so shows how popular it is. We both had pies....steak and ale for the husband with chips, steak and Stilton for me with mash. Lovely! Well worth visiting if you are in the area!
We stopped as we were travelling a new route and it was so late for lunch. Weather was cold,, windy, and snow showers were forecast 30 March! We had a really good pasty, with salad and crisps, the fire was lit for us and we listened to lively music we felt so welcomed and were able to resume our journey. We will be making it our regular stop off point.
A great friendly spit and polish local pub. Good atmosphere. Dog friendly. Nice log fire. Food not up to much though, basic but adequate. Beer and spirits selection basic too. Doubles £1.50 extra.
Warm and cosy pub with really good food. Fine selection of delicious pies amongst all the usual fare. Open on nights when a lot of other local places are shut, fortunately, or we would have gone hungry.
