La Meridiana - East Horsley

Bit hit and miss. On the positive side the staff were pleasant with good service and the restaurant is nice. Some dishes did disappoint though, especially the calamari starter which was tough and chewy. Our daughters ordered margherita pizzas, admittedly without the basil, but they were a bit plain and bland to be honest. Pasta dishes were nice and the veal milanese was decent. Overall I’d say it was ok but I wouldn’t rush back. And don’t have the calamari unless your jaw needs a good workout!

Fantastic food with a wide choice on the menu. Drinks are a little pricey. Can get very busy on a Saturday evening meaning limited parking, slow service and can be very noisy. Overall I'd go back but book an earlier reservation on a Saturday evening.

It was bit chaotic on arrival as they were very busy, however we were shown to our table quite quickly. I think on a quieter even that the service would have been timely and impeccable but it was, as I said, very busy. The ambience was really good and it is run like a typical Italian family restaurant. The whole family is involved and the typical differences of opinion make for great entertainment. Our waiter was very friendly and apologetic of the delay but made sure that our food was piping hot and well presented on arrival. Our drinks were kept topped up and the manager even checked on us himself a number of times. The food is exceptional and not overly expensive. Drinks are around the usual mark for a good restaurant and plenty of options are available
