Contribuiți la feedbackI went in to get a take away and then decided to eat in, it was my first time trying this restaurant. I was on my own (female) the staff were great very friendly and attentive, I recommend the Lamb Methi Gosht best one I've had! Really lovely restaurant.
Don't know Hertford and staying for a night by myself so looked at TA reviews and chose the Raj. Got to say, really disappointed. First customer in and quite friendly reception, was offered one choice of beer. Only a bit later did I find a party of 4 being offered a choice of beer. Food was hot and arrived in good time but very very average, chicken tough and obviously reheated etc. Only plus was a freshly cooked nan which was good. Anyway, no big deal until the bill arrived. One guy with 2 poppadoms, rice, nan, main course and 2 beers.... £42+ Have never paid that much by a mile for a one person curry. Cobra £7.95 a bottle! Maybe that's the new normal but £40+ for a curry for one,, that doesn't seem right for the food on offer.
A warm welcome was received at The Raj and, as usual, the food was delicious. I went with my two daughters for our annual Father’s Day get together and, we all agreed this is by far the best Indian food in Hertford. We’ve tried every Indian restaurant in the town over the years but none get anywhere near the quality of the food in this restaurant.
Had a lovely meal here, the food was perfectly cooked and cocktails must say they was lovely too!!!! Staff are very helpful and friendly and they customised our food to our requirements. Can’t wait to go back my mouth is watering now thinking about the yummy food.
Had a lovely meal staff were very attentive, when I asked about tips I was told that management get them and not staff that worked so hard, it’s a shame. I always leave a tip if I have good food and service but I didn’t on this occasion Owner/manager give the tips to your staff who so deserve a little extra after a long shift
