Contribuiți la feedbackAs soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by a beautiful counter where we ordered our drinks. We were introduced to the owner, Mark, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He even offered to let us meet the cats before we left, which was a lovely birthday surprise! While we waited for a few members of our group to arrive, we took a stroll up the ramp to the left of the counter. We admired the stunning and unique decor and chose a table in the back. Once the rest of our party arrived, we returned to the counter to order our food and then went back to our table. Our sandwiches were served as soon as they were ready, and while I didn't take any photos of the food or drinks, I can assure you they were fantastic. After we finished our meal, the owner took us to the cat lounge to meet the adorable cats. There were five beautiful, playful cats that we had the pleasure of spending time with. (There are plenty of pictures showcasing the intricate cat lounge!) Thank you so much to everyone at TWC for the amazing experience!
As I walked in, the owner told me, "This is a place for misfits," and I immediately felt at home. He was joking about my shirt, but this quirky spot really is inviting. They serve excellent coffee and have an abundance of cat-themed items, plus some actual cats roaming around in the back. I absolutely love this place and wish we had one nearby; I would stop by every day!
The owner, Mark, was extremely friendly and shared some great recommendations for local attractions. It was fascinating to hear how he started the café. The decor is wonderful, and as someone who isn't particularly fond of cats, I was pleasantly surprised to see cat memorabilia from around the world. As a fan of Japan, I loved spotting Hello Kitty and the maneki-neko. The food was delicious! I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and shrimp corn chowder, both of which tasted wonderfully homey. They even treated our dog to a little meat of her own. I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area. I also appreciated the social justice messages displayed both outside and inside the café. Don't miss a trip to the bathroom—it's worth it! I’ll definitely be returning.
Update to my original review: I returned today and tried the shrimp corn chowder, which was wonderful! I really liked relaxing in the chairs outside; it's such a welcoming and tranquil spot. Thank you, Mark! I look forward to visiting again soon!
This restaurant is an adorable spot, and the owner and staff are incredibly friendly! It's definitely a hidden gem in East Haddam that you should check out. I ordered a banana strawberry smoothie, which was delightful—perfectly sweet and essentially my dessert in drink form! I also tried a turkey sandwich, which was good, with everything being very fresh. We also sampled a Reuben, and it was delicious. We sat in the back where we could enjoy a view of the stream running through the area. The atmosphere is super cute and cozy, making it a great place to relax and chat while enjoying some food and drinks.
