Contribuiți la feedbackService was very slow the staff did not know dietary information about the food (e.g. gluten free . Soup seemed to be out of a tin. Main course was very poor. Roast potatos OK but veg. overcooked, bland likely not salted when cooked. Lamb chops over cooked, tough dry. No sauc or gravy. Cheese board (that I had to wait for until all the other deserts had beenserved (and eaten! was nicely presented but the cheese was cold rather than room temp. Coffee was pre-milked, weak and tasted instant. Very unlikely to go again.
Came here with my son on a Friday evening after a long week and just wanted to surprise him with a nice Dinner. We had a Children 's Lasagne which according to my son was how Lasagne should be and a pint of Badger. The staff were great and we really enjoyed our evening. Thanks Geoff, will be back!
The Staff at the Dorset Soldier did us proud!! We choose the Dorset Soldier to host my Father’s Wake on Friday after meetings with Geoff Sherry. They catered for over 70 guests some traveling as far as Ireland Scotland. Everyone commented on what a lovely venue how the staff made us all feel so welcome. They banquet was second to none. They supplied us with delicious foods endless teas coffees. All the staff we attentive friendly. They made such a sad occasion into a warm welcoming environment where we could spend time with friends family. Geoff had lit the log burner had some appropriate music playing in the back ground. I would like to recommend this as an excellent venue to host an event where you can be assured of being well looked after. Thank you to all the staff Geoff for being such good hosts.
Good food. Good service and good pricing. Thursday lunch time and they were fully booked with a party of 21 but had extra staff in. Excellent
Met some friends for a catch up dinner. Had a few drinks first then headed into the dinning area. This is a pub with a small dining area. Decent menu friendly service. I order the chicken tikka kebabs which was served with rice salad. Should have gone with my gut instincts when the waitress mentioned that the kebabs couldn't be made gluten free as they are bought in. They were quite tasteless salad was a bit tired looking. The highlight was the chicken wings(10 for £7.50) which a friend order, they were lovely. Prices were reasonable.
