Star Coffee - East Devon

I visit the Star Cafe frequently with my sister. We are always made to feel welcome and greeted with a smile with the lovely couple who run this lovely little coffee shop. They really do make the best coffee in town and the home made food is equally delicious! I would definitely recommend!

We visited Exmouth while on holiday and stumbled across this little, unassuming coffee shop. It was very pretty, quaint inside, extremely clean and not particularly “showy”. We were welcomed so warmly by the owners. We then sat down to one of the nicest lunches I’ve had. We had paninis and sandwiches with coffee (extremely good coffee), very simple but absolutely delicious. Served with a nice fresh side salad and a complimentary portion of chips because of “our wait” I didn’t feel we had a wait to be honest but was very happy to have the yummy chips. We weren’t rushed out while me and my daughter waited for my husband to pick up the car as it was raining. To top off our visit, we then got talking to the loveliest lady, a Scottish lady called Catherine who is a regular, she was so interesting and kind and even got a few words out of my very shy teenager. There’s not many community minded cafes like this anymore, where everyone is made to feel welcome. The couple who own it have made a little gem here, serving simple but gorgeous food in a homely but professional setting. I hope I get to visit again.

Been here several times. Owners are really friendly. Food delicious, tasty mushroom omelette served with chips, food was piping hot and plentiful. Someone had jacket potato with cheese and that too looked delicious. Will try that next time.

So who needs the bland coffee chains when you have this brilliant little gem of a place hidden up the road, great ambience inside, relaxed atmosphere and staff so lovely and friendly. Prices very decent and the spiced teacakes are divine, and to top it all choosing to go independent is putting back into the community instead of the pockets of the corporates so winwin all round, check it out! :

Wow! Quite literally the best coffee. Its not very often I take a sip of a coffee shop coffee and feel found in flavour the owners are LOVELY. I've tried the iced coffee and scones... so delicious!
