I stopped by Bell Tavern with my son when we were already in the area for another purpose and it worked out great, but had previously been considering a special trip just to this park because of the “splash pad” (my son is obsessed with them) and was glad that I didn’t make the effort. It has a nice trail, basketball and tennis courts, restrooms, fantastic picnic tables and lots of them, a very nice playground with clean and new looking equipment and the “splash pad” that is really just two small fountains. The picnic areas are especially nice and there are tons of options of places to sit and eat, whether under pavilions or in the shade of the trees or even in the sun if you prefer. The park itself is a little noisy because it’s right by the highway. There is not a lot of shade in the playground area and the “tot lot” and sand pit were both in sad shape. I would say this playground is best for kids age 5 and up. The splash pad doesn’t turn on before 11 am no matter how hot it is outside! Overall I would definitely recommend this park, just don’t make a special trip expecting the splash pad to be a main feature because it’s not!
There was an active wasp nest when we went which I’m not sure why an sig was simply put up but not taken care of. Also restrooms were a little dirty and out of hand soap.
Poorly designed and dangerous play equipment. No shade. Everything is grungy looking. I used to love this park until they started “upgrading” it
Splash pad is operational from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. which is a bummer when it's already 80° at 9:00 a.m.
Really cool park with a ton to do! Pickle ball, tennis, hand ball, an awesome playground, apparently a splash pad in the summer! There were also some sand volleyball courts, and what looked like a hockey rink, but I didn’t investigate that.
