The quiche tasted like an egg custard and was frankly terrible. The other dishes were decent. The cafe is not living up to the Dumfries House experience.
The food was nice .Staff friendly .The only thing there is no shade outside at all the day was so warm .
The setting of Dumfries House is stunning and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, the cafe did not live up to our expectations. Despite its prestigious location, it appeared to be poorly maintained and poorly managed. The cheese sandwiches we ordered were bland, served on plain white bread with a small portion of crisps and stale carrot cake. The cafe needs to improve its quality or consider bringing in someone else who can do a better job.
Pleasant surroundings decent conversion of a former stables to a semi posh cafe that runs along with the walks and tours for Dumfries House. Not verey inspiring menu but all reasonably done Minor air of trading on snob vaue of the Estate Big Hoose aiming for National Trust [ish] feel
