Contribuiți la feedbackI went to Clutch for my birthday celebration with some friends. The food was enjoyable, but they did not inform us about the additional charges for certain dishes when we made the reservation. The drinks seemed low quality. We were satisfied with the service, but I later discovered that they had charged me double for the deposit of £75. I tried calling Clutch multiple times, but was unable to speak to management as they were always unavailable. In December, I finally received an email from management promising to investigate the issue promptly, but I have still not heard anything since then.
If I was basing this review on the chicken alone it would be 4 stars as it was sound, the pancakes I had were really tasty even though the turkey lardons that came with it were cold. We had booked for a friend’s birthday and were made to wait 25mins for our table outside in the cold. There was no attempt to offer us any water or drinks whilst we waited. We also had to basically ask the staff to hurry the group that were sat at our table and were less than impressed to see them being poured another glass whilst we were all waiting outside? Once sat down it took a while for drinks to come out (we were served drinks at 15:45 having arrived at 14:50). I understand it was a busy Saturday but there was no acknowledgement or apology for the slow service. When the bill arrived there was no discount either which was interesting. All in all the experience left me feeling meh. Maybe just caught it on a bad day?
Been going to clutch for a few years know and the food has always been great, last night took my son for first time we placed our order and normally you wait around 20-30 minutes to get it , our food literally arrived 3 minutes after order and all together starter and main the halloumi cubes were dry and tasteless which having had them before was unusual, the chicken was ok but not up to the normal high standard , have to say disappointed and feel like there letting there normally high standards slip which is a shame , my son said he wouldn’t go back again so it’s a future customer lost
The chicken was decent, but I've had better in London. It's disappointing that you can only get the brunch menu until 4pm on a Saturday, especially when we came in for lunch. It seems like a missed opportunity as that's when many people visit, but I suppose they make more money from the brunch menu. The restaurant had a decent local vibe and was busy, but with so many options in London, especially better chicken places, I probably wouldn't come back.
My sis had reserved the back room of this restaurant which has its own bar and a really cool ambience. The cocktails and drink choice were excellent and the barman even made me a beautiful low alcohol cocktail as I didn't want to drink that night. The food though, was the real star of the show! I wasn't really expecting much as the dinner menu is not as lengthy as if usually like. We didn't actually order from the menu as my sis had arranged for plates for about 8 people. Four different types of coated chicken thighs, drumsticks, wings and beast strips. The soy glaze and the naga coatings were my favourite. Sides of slaw, fries, mash and tender green beans were a plenty too. The portion sizes are big and the flavours bigger! We live south of the river but I'm already looking forward to my next journey up East to Cluck!
