I think they must have been somewhere else because the MLB doesn't sell muffins or dunes. Sourdough, rye, mutligraine, white, baguettes and oatmeal cookies. That's it. All right.
Was here late in the day, so stock was low. Service good as usual. Donuts great and cinnamon roll is the best around. Owner super friendly. The train and toys add to the atmosphere, but great baked goods are why we stop any time we pass this way.
Almost hidden and walking through the front door I realize why this is the case. A few muffins and danish on the counter. Otherwise nothing else to purchase. Essentially they are out of business.
My Little Bakery is one of Duxbury's treasures. I don't know where you could get a better loaf of bread. I guess the truth of this is proven by their hours. They are able to run a successful business by being open only 16 hours a week: 10-2, Wed-Sat. Mostly they deal in bread. Before Covid, when you could enter the store, they sold jars of things that you could spread on bread or use to enhance your meal. But now the owner meets you at the door with a rack of freshly baked breads. This morning when I bought a loaf of their French sourdough and a baguette, the sourdough still had warmth to it and had clearly just come out of the oven. I have had their focaccia in the past and they are certainly the best you will find anywhere. They do sell cookies too which are good, but the bread is brilliant. Some Fridays and Saturdays they run out of bread before closing time. And on holidays they restrict sales to those who have ordered ahead. However, at Christmas, I called to tell him that I had forgotten to order bread ahead of time and he told me to call him on pickup day around 11 and he would tell me if he thought there would be leftover bread. I did that and was able to come by and get a few loaves. He is a very nice guy.
A hidden local treasure worth the ride if you are somewhere near Duxbury, MA! Everything is made from scratches, bread (and cookies! are freshened daily and never make you want to buy your bread again in a traditional grocery store. Jim the owner is knowledgeable friendly and takes great pride on his work. Very recommended!
