Contribuiți la feedbackThis bar was an excellent stop during our Sunday bar-hopping adventure in Durham. The venue is spacious, featuring two distinct areas with ample seating. It was busy during our visit, but both the host and bartender were friendly and attentive. Their menu is quite unique, and I was particularly impressed by the selection of tinned fish. If you enjoy tinned fish like I do, you'll definitely find it intriguing; if not, it's still worth trying since they offer a variety of options. I had heard great things about their burger, and it certainly lived up to the hype! I'd say it's the second-best burger in the area, which is a significant endorsement. The meat was tender and bursting with flavor, and the fries served with it were absolutely scrumptious. After trying it here, I've developed a newfound appreciation for a runny egg on my burger. The cocktails were also fun, creative, and absolutely fantastic.
I expected the oysters during happy hour to be smaller ones that they wanted to get rid of before the dinner service, but they turned out to be all the same size. A couple were on the smaller side, but they were incredibly fresh and had a clean taste. We enjoyed them with some $5 Modelos, which made for a delightful experience! The ambiance is a bit dark in the evenings, leaning towards a bar-centric vibe, and the place is 21 and over only. The servers were always friendly and responded quickly. I’ll definitely be back soon for more happy hour oysters! Cheers!
Alley Twenty Six provides a fantastic atmosphere paired with excellent drinks. The pimento cheese is exceptional, and I strongly suggest trying some of the other cheese selections as well. Don't forget to park in a nearby garage!
Visited Alley Twenty Six for first time. 8 of us in the party. Food was good...shrimp sandwich was the winner. Burgers were good, too. Menu is rather basic...biggest ticket item was steak and frites or mussels. Adult cocktails were tasty though weak! Service was mediocre. Attn definitely needed to pre-bus!! Too many empty hands walking in and out of kitchen door. May return for small bites.
I came to Alley Twenty Six on a Tuesday evening and was able to find parking in the parking structure located near the restaurant. Street parking is also an option if available. I sat at the bar and placed my order. The bartender that I engaged with the most was nice. I didn't have much interaction with the other bartender. The restaurant had a welcoming feel. My food came out quickly. I got the alley jr. burger with fries and an order of the Nashville hot cauliflower. My French fries were hot and tasty. The burger was really good and I loved the topping combinations, and the cauliflower was flavorful. It was not too spicy. I would definitely come back again!
