Contribuiți la feedbackIndian monsoon is located in the inner city of durham and close enough to dinate before a show at dpac. the website is a little confusing with opening times as it has both 11 o'clock and 12 o'clock in various areas on the website. the website also takes reservations for 11 watches, so when we have gone. the workers arrived at 10:59 clock, so there were some delays before we sat. but once we had set ourselves, the service was friendly and the food came out quickly. the restaurant is open and clean. it has a beautiful river. I had ordered the goat corma which did not know about the goat bones. So when I was insecure how to eat, they turned it on lamb. we also ordered garlic naan. my court had a really nice taste. I didn't expect my meal to be changed. I just wanted to know how I could eat it because I hadn't eaten any goats. the lamb was good. this is definitiw on my return list to re-dance when in durham.
Would absolutely dine here again! Brought the whole family and our favorites were the Monsoon Cauliflower app, Bhindi Masala, Paneer Makhani, Kamini (house cocktail , and Mango Lassi (our kids favorite! . Started out with some complimentary papad and chutney, apps arrived quickly, and then all of the entrees were accompanied with a good serving of rice. Fun ambiance, fully stocked bar, and a fun staff. The raita was great but just could have used more bigger serving. Highly recommend! My husband and I grew up in India. We cook Indian food and order it all the time, so we were excited to try this restaurant near us. Samosas were solid, with a crispy crust and lots of filling and a yummy asafetida (or black salt? taste. Nice street food touch. We appreciated that they came with the two classic dipping sauces. Cauliflower app inedible. Veg undercooked and too much breading and sauce which resulted in a goopy mess. Tandoori Shrimp not what we expected. Quite salty. No charred taste at all. But shrimp were well cooked. Dish needs balance and an experienced hand with the tandoor oven. Lamb Chettinad Curry was absolutely delicious!! Tasted the curry leaves and the lamb was tender. Sauce to die for and just the right spice level. Will order this again for sure. Chicken Tikka Masala a little sweet, but not overly rich, with too much cream, like some places. Naan has very good chewy texture. Hits and misses, but will definitely order a couple of these dishes again, and try some others. It was nice to find a South Indian curry on the menu.

Huge portion reasonable price best garlic naan in the triangle. The people there were kind enough to seat us 30 min before close and we had the restaurant to ourselves. Very friendly servers even at the end of the night and we didn't feel rushed at all. Will need to come back and try their meat options, but this time we tried the veggie options and it did not disappoint. Really liked that they separated their menu based on veggie or meat-based.
