John Dory's Pavilion - Durban

We haven't been to John Dorys for years because our last visits to another industry were quite disappointing. It was our first time in Pavillion and we really enjoyed the food. Delicious yarn, delicious fish. Pages and sauces were great. The Jalapeño Poppers were brilliant, loaded with cream cheese filling but still sharp. Friendly staff. We decided to get some sushi as it was on Wednesday, but it wasn't good. I'm not sure how long they keep the fish frozen, but it had no taste at all. You kindly exchanged it for us for the prawn that was a little better. But... in the future we get our sushi elsewhere. Edit for a later visit: Hubby wanted to try the sushi again, only in case, not much better than the last visit, but certainly better than the place next door. Prawns were good as usual, service excellent. Garlic sauce that came with the shrimps was really delicious. Decided to try the grilled potstickers, it didn't matter at all.

What a great place to have good seafood. We had exceptional service from Samke. She preferred we called her Sam. I would definitely be going back just for the 1 Kg JD prawn platter. Prawns were cooked to perfection with their great tasting signature sauce. My kids really enjoyed their sushi. Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our prawns. I will definitely be back soon. Hats off to this branch. Service was on point. Food was perfectly presented and tasty too. Keep it up guys!!
