Maid-rite - Durant

When I was a child, a visit to Iowa always meant a stop at Maid Rite. It was a delightful trip down memory lane, and this time was no exception. Both my husband and daughter ordered the special, which came with fries topped with cheese sauce, and they absolutely loved it!

The restaurant has a charming, relaxed old-fashioned diner vibe. I always order the same dish, which I really enjoy (Maid-Rites!). I haven't tried anything else on the menu, but the number of cars in the parking lot suggests that everything else must be good too.

I've made the trip to this restaurant twice, only to find it closed on both occasions. Please update your hours!

I stayed there about 1/2 a dozen times on my trips. I love the cake especially with ice cream up. I want to stop her two times in September. I love small places. I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area to stop.

Jeff's market occupancy, which is the ride in operation AWESOME! The menu is published on FB and on its sign. It is usually a choice of 2 participants. No calls ahead, drag up to say how many of every dinner, pay, get your order and drive out. Easy food, quick dinner. Be ready to wait in the drive thru line.
