Southside Deli - Durango

Best home made chicken soup ever! In Sarasota from NY and not feeling well. Needed old fashion chicken soup. Did a search on Yelp and found it here at Southside deli

Sandwiches and salads are delicious. Menu is a nice array of options. The restaurant is conveniently located with plenty of parking. Service is super friendly.

Southside is probably my favorite Deli in Sarasota. I've been eating here from time to time for over 15 years. I'm not sure how long they have been in business but they are a staple for lunch in Sarasota. Their menu is quite extensive. All types of sandwiches, salads, soups, deserts and more. Everything I've eaten here has been good great. Club sandwiches, melts, soups, etc. They offer several home made sides in sealed containers in a glass front refrigerator. Potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw and more. All are excellent. One of the few negatives is that they are extremely popular and there's not enough seating to handle all of the walk in traffic. You order at the counter and they'll call your name or deliver to a table if you're seated. It can get quite crowded waiting for your order. I may be mistaken but it appears they don't carry bottled water. Mostly sodas, bottled teas, Gatorade, etc. Lot's of healthy menu items so I would think many customers would want bottled water. They do have a drive thru window but I've never pre ordered so I'm not sure if the process. You can also, order ahead and pickup at the side counter. Give them a shot. There's a good chance you will want to come back. I know I will.

No complaints as always. Fresh, professional, clean, courteous and consistent. Nice view everything on the menu is a must. If you have to do anything at the hospital it's right next door very convenient well located in Sarasota plenty of parking and a nice view lots of seating. So don't even think about it go you will be very satisfied.

My mom and I have had the best lunches at this restaurant! They offer an incredible Greek salad, a variety of sandwich options, ice cream, and much more.
