Windjammer's - Dunkirk

Ate at Windjammer in Clarion Hotel. Serves was great hubby's steak was wonderful. I tried the Indian Curry Chicken..Mine was way to spicy for me. I guess I should of ordered a side of rice to help with the spices. But I do recommend their food. Serve was good and food served hot. Even with covid related short staff they appeared well staffed

We were looking for something nice, close to the water, and had outside dinning. We were so excited, and then so very disappointed. When we walked around to the back, only one person was working, and it felt like she was hiding from us. We had to track her down and ask how seating worked, if it was assigned, or if it was free seating. Her reaction was certainly not positive, but I wouldn 't say negative, already a -1 from me, I just wanted to help! Next, our waiter came over, with the biggest attitude possible, which I understand being a server is hard, but you should always just put on a smile to ensure a good experience and good tip is achieved. I asked what was the best menu item here, and she replied with which one and then I said... what do you mean? Just out of the entire menu? To which she responded in a demeaning manner we have to menus Indian and American to which I said great, where is the Indian menu? To which she proceeded to point out 2 menu items.... On the same menu.... They aren 't different, and her attitude just made it worst. I just put it behind us, and we ordered, she suggested the hamburger and beef on weck, so I choose hamburger and my partner choose chicken tenders dipped in sweet Asian chili. Great, but there 's more. THE BIRDS ARE SO LOUD. Can 't even talk to anyone without screaming over birds and music. While we 're on the topic of decor, talk about old and dingy. There neon sign is broken, and the outside has Christmas lights. The seating is highly uncomfortable unless you are 10 or under. This is just adding so much to our experience. The food comes, not bad but not great. Wish I took photos, presentation was mediocre, and similar to that of a dive bar in town. Did I mention this was supposed to be an upper scale restaurant? Finally, time to leave, I ask for the check, and she comes back 10 minuets later, AND LITERALLY THROWS THE CHECK ON THE TABLE. Talk about rude and ridiculous. She got 15% because I 'm a nice guy. She 's lucky she didn 't get 8%. Moral of the story, don 't eat here unless you are ok with bad service and mediocre food.

We enjoyed the Friday fish dinner. The broiled fish was excellent with a generous portion. Service quick and friendly. The restaurant was very clean, important to us in these times. We will definitely return.

We were visiting friends and they suggested the 6.00$ wings night and I am thrilled they did. The wings were great crunchy and flavorful many flavors to choose from.. Tablecloth is covered with paper which was a big hit for our 7 year old and also the adults... Service was good/mediocre but it was busy due to the deal... Area... I wanted to be closer to Cassadaga lake so I chose to stay at the Best Western,however, from the looks of it this place would be worth the extra drive... we took a lovely walk and watched the sunset after dinner.. the clarions pool (this is a hotel restaurant) overlooks the lake which would have been a nice amenity for an overnight. Restaurant was great and the hotel looks terrific

I was staying at the Clarion that this restaurant is in. Eating here was a last minute choice, because it was raining. I walked in, was seated quickly. I was looking over the menu when my server popped over to say hi and take my drink order. I tried the fried pickles which turned out to be very good. The breading was light and crispy, the pickles were spears and very good. They were still firm. Salad was good, not overloaded. The Parmesan peppercorn dressing was very good. I chose the 14 ounce rib-eye. The steak wasn't the best looking steak, but the flavor was exceptional. Cooked just right and not too fatty. Proving that you don't always need a classically trained chef to put out a good meal, but a good broiler man is essential. Overall it was a much nicer meal than I was expecting. My server was nice and never let me linger. When I go back in September I'll definitely be back.
