Z's Brasserie - Dunkeld

I appreciate that this restaurant offers a vegan menu. I ordered the couscous bowl, which was edible but lacked seasoning. The dish mainly consisted of rocket and tomato, with mashed avocado on top that didn't taste great. The vegan feta was also disappointing. Despite this, the service was friendly and quick.

I went to this restaurant with my family and we all left satisfied. They offered a good selection of vegan dishes, including 5 or 6 options such as pizza. Additionally, all of the desserts were vegan and came with vegan ice cream.

The restaurant offers a fantastic selection of vegan dishes. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is laid-back.

Great experience, we sat in the riverside location for an evening meal. There were about 7 options on the menu, and 4 vegan desserts. We ordered a spinach and squash risotto and a meze platter, thinking the food was overpriced. But then here they come with these massive platter that could easily be shared by 2 people, and a very generous serving of risotto. The aubergine fritters that came with the platter were very crispy. Would definitely come again!

I don’t normally leave feedback but this bad experience is still on my mind, one month on… so here I am, warning other potential customers who would like to find a better lunch in Dunkeld… We decided to eat in this rather inviting beer garden by the river with my visiting family after a lovely walk by the hermitage waterfalls. After being poorly greeted by the 2 members of staff (we were told to seat at a table meant to accommodate 5/6 people max although we were a party of 4 adults, two 5 year old children and a toddler!! The lady insisted on placing the high chair over the bench seat, rather than by the table side, leaving even less space for one of the adults to seat) we had to wait a fairly long time to be served once we had painfully queued to order and pay at the bar… Once the food arrived, I was a bit disappointed by the look of the food on my plate. I wish I had taken a picture to prove my point, but my steak “pie”came in between two very thin puff pastry layers, over cooked dry pieces of beef and a few overcooked dry vegetables. Yuck! Not tasty at all… and the same went with the burger I ordered for my son (who didn’t touch his meal) and my sister’s very overpriced burger with badly cooked, poor quality meat. What a shame… despite such a lovely view, the service and the quality of the food spoilt our visit of Dunkeld. We definitely won’t be back and we would advise customers to stick to drinks if they visit this unwelcoming place. AmaZingly poor experience
