Indian Ocean Tandori

We've eaten Indian food all over the world and this ranks as one of the poorest representations that we've ever encountered. Biryani and vindaloo should be signature dishes for any Indian restaurant and both were unflavored and indistinguishable from one another. Tomato sauce seems to be the primary ingredient in both at Indian Ocean. The naan, which should be served crispy and warm, was tepid and limp. I'm quite sure that none of the dishes we were served would have been acceptable to the owners' palate if prepared by his wife, so I am baffled that this passes muster as the quality acceptable to his guests. What this town could use is an Indian restaurant willing to serve authentic, flavorful Indian food the way it is meant to be. A huge disappointment.

Great service, friendly staff, excellent food and warm and cozy atmosphere. I was going to try the restaurant next door but the tantalizing smells drew me in. If you are looking for tasty Indian food in Dungarvan, this restaurant is a must.

Great value! Order chicken balti with rice. Papadum (bread) with different sauces comes as an appetizer for free.
