Sj's Thai Cafe - Dunedin

Just stopped here for the first time since this store has seemingly changed ownership....and it was fantastic!! It is small and very well stocked with a plethora of different Asian products...booth refrigerated, canned or in small packets. It is very clean, well laid out and easy to navigate. Nisa (possibly an owner? was there to assist me with questions and she was very courteous, professional and gracious....and more importantly, steered me to everything I asked about. Prices were shockingly low. Other stores would consider much of this food 'exotic ' and charge accordingly. I did not eat any of the fresh food Nisa was preparing....but it all looked, and smelled, great! All in all, I would highly recommend this store to someone looking for hard to find Asian products and spices.....this, for me, was a really great find!

Pleasantly surprised. This was my second time. 4 stars because the 1st time I went with my husband, during posted business hours, they were locked up- closed. However, the food is fantastic. Best crab rangoon ever. Fried rice was amazing. Husband got curry and he was pleased also. We will be back.

This was my husband’s and my first visit to this store, and while we were looking for specific cooking ingredients, we discovered that they also offer takeout food and have seating available for dining in. We ordered the Pot Stickers and Pad Thai, and I must say, the food, service, and selection of items for purchase, along with the prices, were outstanding! We will surely come back for both the shopping experience and the amazing food. Thank you for providing so many options that aren’t typically found in regular grocery stores, as well as the friendly and generous service!

I have visited this restaurant multiple times in the past week to gather ingredients for an Indian dish. The staff was incredibly helpful in locating everything I needed, and they were exceptionally friendly. On Friday night, my girlfriend and I decided to have dinner there, and it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely return, and I highly recommend this place to everyone. The Thai Fried Rice was outstanding, and the Red Curry was fantastic. We also ordered the Pot Stickers, which were excellent. I regret not discovering this restaurant sooner, and I look forward to coming back frequently in the future.

I got takeout from SJ's for the first time over the weekend, and I can't believe I hadn't tried it sooner. The food was absolutely amazing. My boyfriend, who's always on the hunt for really good spicy food, enjoyed the Pad Thai combo with chicken. I ordered the Panang curry with tofu, which had just the right level of spiciness for me, and the flavor was fantastic. It's among the best Thai food we've ever had. We'll definitely be ordering from here more often!
