Dunedin Social Club

I had lunch at Social Club on a Sunday and enjoyed a weekend beer for just $6. I ordered a 200g steak with a green salad, priced at $16, but it was slightly overcooked. My wife opted for the delicious beer-battered market fish, which was monkfish, often referred to as "poor man's lobster." It was served with delightful chips and tartar sauce. Overall, I would rate the food 4 out of 5, the service 3 out of 5, and the ambiance 3 out of 5. We visited on January 14, 2018.

This is a fantastic spot for live music on Thursday and Friday nights, and their snack plates are incredible. It's also very conveniently located in the Octagon of Dunedin.

During our visit to Dunedin, we stumbled upon this restaurant, which feels more like a pub, located right in the city center. They offer fantastic cocktails and an impressive selection of New Zealand beers. We decided to try something from the small lunch menu and ordered the steak, which unfortunately was overcooked. However, I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes and a small green salad with vinaigrette dressing, as well as the duck risotto, which was decent as well.

Cheap food, great taste of beers but high price. Well, you'll get what you pay because they have their own beers.

Tried their steak which was perfect. Kudos to chef, doing great job while the place was quite busy. Overall pleasant experience.
