Contribuiți la feedbackThey give you a complimentary little antipasto and a liqueur at the end which is a nice touch but the food is terrible. I started with arancini which were a bit dry and strangely they were served with a Thai dipping sauce, the type you can buy in a bottle at any supermarket. I chose the Veal Polpette as a main expecting lovely, luscious meatballs but they were so tough I could hardly cut them never mind chew them so I sent them back. I ordered Spaghetti Bolognese instead but it was so overdone with dried herbs I gave up on it. One of my party went for the Ragu di Cervo braised venison with tagliatelle but it was really strong of cinnamon and became quite sickly. The pizza bases were quite ' cardboardy ' in consistency and the toppings poor and not fresh tasting. We didn 't bother with dessert. The staff were pleasant and helpful in the circumstances. Borgotaro is situated in a hotel which also serves bar meals, I suspect all the food is made by the same people.
Listen up..this place is a 'kid on ' Italian restaurant and only the name suggests it is.The food is way below par and the prices are too expensive. Like most patrons, Iv 'e been once but wont be back. The decor is the only positive thing about the restaurant
Had a wonderful meal at Borgotaro with our family. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and food was delicious. I would definitely recommend the restaurant.
I come here often and it is always an amazing experience, I had the Rigatoni Trastevere which is lovely and my partner the spicy Rigatoni Con Sugo. Staff always very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!!
My friend and I booked a table here for dinner. We had mussels and garlic mushrooms to start, pasta for both our mains. The food was average, every course really oily actually. The balsamic used in the restaurant is disappointing. Cheap and watery. The breads could be much better, I love focaccia but it was only offered as a pizza version. We were given two very small slices before our starters came, which were very oily also. Offering finger bowls with mussels would be helpful to your customers. The dessert options are lacking. My favourite Italian dessert being tiramisu, wasn’t even on the menu. The restaurant inside is nice enough, but would be even nicer if you didn’t have to look into a club/bar which the restaurant is joined onto. Very evident that the owner and the chef aren’t Italian.
