Contribuiți la feedbackMy husband and I have built eating at Sensational Samosa into our Saturday afternoon routine. I would highly recommend their 'World 's Best Vegan Samosa ' or their fruit and chocolate filled muffin.
Take the vegetable samosa, usually a simple combination of potatoes, peas, and spices; it's hard to get that wrong, but this place somehow managed. The filling was tasteless, the potatoes were undercooked, and the pastry was coated in something that resembled Ruffles all-dressed seasoning. The soy and onion samosa had no seasoning whatsoever. As for the channa masala, it tasted like it came straight from a can. If you aren't familiar with Indian cuisine, you might want to think twice about dining here. Indian food is meant to be accessible, affordable, and reminiscent of home-cooked meals, but this experience was disheartening. Typically, at a decent Indian restaurant, you can get several samosas for under $5, all made by hand with ingredients you'd find in your pantry, and seasoned properly. Don't be swayed by claims of using no canola oil or the freshest ingredients; it doesn't matter if the food isn't good. This establishment misrepresents Indian cuisine and the Dundas community deserves much better. On a positive note, the decor was at least nice. P.S. The ladoos were priced at $2.95 each. Just think about that for a moment.
This charming local restaurant is a must-visit! I absolutely love the veggie samosas and pakora. Be sure to give this place a try. The salads are fantastic too!
For one of the item there was a note on the ingredients label which read no canola oil and the item was made using coconut oil, I couldn 't contain my happiness. I read a lot of reviews about things being expensive here but I don 't understand why it is difficult to comprehend the fact that good things are expensive. It costs to make stuffs with good/clean ingredients. Had gone here to buy samosa but ended up buying lot more as I couldn 't believe there are people like these who really care about what goes into the things they make. And none of them were disappointing, they tasted great!
Not impressed at all. The prices here are outrageous. I ordered two small curries and two small samosas that were below average, along with tiny tamarind dips, and it came to $56. Did I mention that everything arrived cold? The service at the counter was lacking as well. After reheating my meal at home, I was faced with a bowl of Chana masala that was so overly salted I couldn’t eat it and had to throw it away. The spice profile was bland and lacked authentic flavor or any fusion elements. Overall, the flavors missed the mark, the service was poor, and the prices are far too high.
