Contribuiți la feedbackOn the last day of my short vacation in Dumaguete, my cousin and I decided to have lunch at Atong Kamalig restaurant because I was craving for some native Inasal Chicken. The restaurant is located downtown, near the Cathedral. It is spacious, with available parking slots and separate areas for smoking and non-smoking guests. We opted for the non-smoking area with air conditioning due to the humid weather outside. The ambiance was not very appealing, so don't expect too much in that aspect. We ordered garlic shrimp, chopsuey, and Inasal Chicken, which cost us less than a thousand pesos and was enough for two people. The presentation of the food was not very attractive, as it appeared somewhat dry and the prices were a bit on the high side. The taste of the Inasal Chicken wasn't as authentic as I had hoped for, considering we were in the Negros region. I think I will have to visit Bacolod to try the real deal. The wait time was quite long, so I would suggest the restaurant implement buzzers to call waiters since the areas are divided. Overall, my dining experience was average, so I would give it 3 stars. Address: Atong Kamalig Restaurant, Katada St., Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
I love this place because it serves what you want. Good food indeed. Although it's quite costly, but worth it.
This is gotta be one of the best home made food that I've ever eaten in my travels. The price is just perfect
The food was greasy and the service quite unprofessional. The waitress didn't know the menu or what was available and we go served a can with mould on it. Would not recommend.
Confusion!Yesterday we were at the Atong Kamalig, near the sea and the pier. The place is popular with a nice ambience. We ordered Sizzling Sisig and Sizzling Squid. Sizzling Sisig is a traditional Filipino dish which is made of chopped pig's head parts (e.g. face, snout, cheeks, and ear) and chicken liver, usually served in a sizzling platter garnished with chopped onion, chili pepper, and slices of calamansi fruits. The sizzling squid is the same style but the main ingredient is squid. The food was ok, the Sizzling Squid had a nice taste but it was too oily. The Sizzling Sisig was obviously not what I had expected since I had confused it with Sizzling Pork which is made of chopped pork meat, not chopped pig head! The Sizzling Sisig contained consequently of almost no meat at all, only pieces of fat, skin, ears and the snout.
