Went to dinner while on a business trip on the strength of the overall reviews I feel are a tad too generous. there is nothing wrong with the place: the service is very attentive and friendly the eating is perfectly acceptable and. the ambiente is beautiful. there is also nothing special to write home. eating was okay that they would do much better at most popular Japanese restaurants in london, for example, and it is a far cry from the best Japanese that they would ever find outside japans; the cooled thing that I had, again, perfectly decent, simply overpriced; and the variety of choices on the menu was not terribly varied. the best thing the tokyo lounge has for her is what they can eat. also then the fact that they have this option can say something in themselves.
The tokyo lounge was recommended by a friend who lives in düsseldorf and as a sushi lover we tried. Summary: Food/Sushi was among the expectations, rice to loose and tuna not fresh, wasabi was probably from a powder paste and had not the special bite. the soy sauce was not kikkoman as the bottle mentioned, but was refilled with another brand soy sauce. the service was good and attentive. the bill was another story because if they eat more than one particular ambunt of €, it will automatically eat everything they can eat for 29.50€. this is not clear on the bill, since all the articles that are listed and then a discount is applied. all in all that was expected and probably the first and last time we had a meal there.
From the moment we went, we had a bad feeling. there was a series of window seats, but they didn't let us sit in one until I passed. it took a long time for someone to approach us. there are many employees who take part in other tasks, and everyone avoids looking at us how they might have to work. we had to ask for menus. edamame was cold. miso was the sweetest I ever tasted and the thunfish was old. After we waited ten minutes for the check, we went to the cash register to pay. only after we had paid, we asked how it was. we said a white lie. do not go to this restaurant. jim.
It’s a nice and fair idea but my experience was that they forgot a lot of items we ordered. Even after telling it happened. At the other hand what you get is not like on the menu pics! You see fresh tuna and than it...isn’t fresh one inside. That’s not nice! Sure you can order as much as you want, but the quality is not good enough for 30 euros per person at my point of view. Wine was good. In total we paid 75,50 euros for two all you can eat, two cokes and two glas of wine. A lot of money for forgetting a lot of orders and the quality of what you get. Not sure, if I will return.
