Jedro - Dubrovnik

Nice atmosphere and expensive drinks. You pay for the atmosphere.

Set in a nice shaded area. Very expensive paid £10 for a coca cola and bitter lemon but think all dubrovnik is expensive.

Went to Jedro with high hopes and a party of 5. After finding prices high but perhaps average for Dubrovnik, the hostess whom ultimately took our order was very helpful and kind in working us through the menu and answering our questions. However, this is when things started to go wrong. The beef soup was genuinely water with a spoonful of rice at the bottom, but I was told this was the meal. More frustrating however, was two separate dishes of squid ordered, that both were served as if they hadn 't been cleaned. They were covered in sand, and when I say that, I don 't mean a peice of sand here or there. Every bite crunched as it was inedible. After calling the owner over, after explaining politely the situation, before even taking the barely touched plate back or tasting it, he claimed there was nothing wrong and we were flat out wrong. We asked him if he would taste it, and he poutingly took it back. After returning 10 minutes later without he squid, he claimed he tasted it, and that there was absolutely no sand and that it was the highest quality squid available . He refused initially any kind of refund or exchange, and asserted threateningly that we would pay for it. After an even more difficult conversation to follow, they offered a side salad in exchange for a whole seafood entree. Then, they punished us by taking literally 48 minutes to bring us out the salad. I have honestly never seen such disappointing service, and even though my tuna pizza was good, the owners service wrecked the experience. First 1 star review I have ever given

Good price. also, fun thing, our waiter is a big guy who sounds pretty like lurch from addam's family. we had a vegetarian lasagne and the cheese lasagna. the latter was amazing. the service was top notch. the heart was very friendly and helpful. it was also quite free while all other restaurants were busy. I and the group had so much fun!

Wonderful eating, good portions, reasonable prices!
