However, the quality and taste of the food are outstanding—it's truly the best Asian restaurant I've tried in Dublin. They have one of the most amusing homemade websites I've ever encountered, and while you can't order online, at least you can browse their menu.
The restaurant is very clean and the food is delicious. There is a wide variety on the menu, and I would have loved to try more dishes. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive.
This is likely one of the best hidden gems in Dublin for excellent dining and quick service. They offer a wide selection of food and drinks, though there are some items that may not be available when specified.
I tried this restaurant for the first time. Upon entering the restaurant, my husband and I were told to pick out a table of where we wanted to sit. We chose a table by the window, but the table was dirty. The waiter came out and was prepared to put clean silverware on the dirty table, but we told him he should clean the table off first. He complied with this and we placed our order. We ordered Won Ton soup and it was merely lightly flavored water, 4 tiny sprigs of green onion, and two wontons with no greens or sliced pork. It was too bland for my tastes and appeared to be two dumplings floating in water. Next, we ordered tea and we had to ask for sugar as there was none in sight. The main entre came. It was okay. Nothing special. We were given the customary after-dinner Chinese cookies which were stale by the way. I went to use the rest room and when it came to drying my hands, the paper towel dispenser was the kind you have to press a lever to activate (which defeats the purpose of having clean hands because you have to touch the lever to get a paper towel). It turns out it was completely empty. Upon walking back to our table, it gave me a good chance to see the floor. The floor was filthy and looked like it had not been swept or cleaned in months. There were large bread crusts, dirt and large bits of food, etc. This was a complete turnoff and we will not be back.
We go to this restaurant if Hunan Lion is closed. Last night we got Kung Pao chicken. It was so awful. It was Kung Pao celery. There wasn't hardly any chicken in it at alll!! We were in shock. It also tasted like a different recipe, with ginger being the main ingredient. The hot and sour soup was wonderful. We won't go back though. They are apparently trying to cut corners with the chicken and it was to such and extreme they should be embarrassed.
