Contribuiți la feedbackWhen we came in there was no warm welcome at all. The waitress was mad because we asked if the juice was fresh. The waitress couldnt help us with the menu because she had no idea what was on the sandwiches. After we ordered a salmon sandwich they brought me a sandwich with the smallest piece of salmon. When I asked for more, she said there was no more salmon. Then I said I wanted to change my sandwich because I am not paying for a plain sandwhich. They told us they would be bringing us salmon. After that they told me the salmon couldnt be brought so if i wanted to order somsthing else that would be possible. So I basically waited 20 minutes for a plain sandwhich.
Went here for breakfast during my stay in Dublin and it was exactly what I wanted and expected. It seems surprisingly like an American diner in some ways and that's always a good thing when a decent cheap breakfast is the goal. Overall it was a okay place, nothing miraculous, but seemed decent enough that I'd have gone back if I lived closer.
The Marlborough appears to have undergone a change of ownership and/or management, and a link with Cafe Bliss of Montague Street, as they now offer a Tenner Early Bird 3 course meal, with a very similar menu to the latter. This is tremendous news! For starters I had the vegetable soup with toasted sliced brown bread the soup with large croutons was great, whilst a more rustic type of bread would have worked with it better. My brother went with the Lamb Kebabs deliciously tasty, with a decent tsatziki sauce. We both went with Pasta Mains me the very good Piri Piri Chicken Pasta and he the Spicy Italian Sausage Pasta (excellent). A peppermint tea and an americano finished things off nicely. And all of this for a tenner each utterly utterly superb! The ambience and decor was pleasant, and the service was excellent if a little nervous, which hopefully will dissipate as this new venture flourishes and triumphs.
French toast had one piece of bacon to four pieces of toast. Tasty though and cheap!
